Christmas is celebrated everywhere in India and most people enjoy time with their family and loved ones. The festival is quite special to the people living in the country and is celebrated in a unique way which automatically makes Christmas the best time to visit India. People go to church on the evening of Christmas.
Goa is a happening hotspot at the time of Christmas but Mumbai is another city where Christmas is celebrated with a bang. Indian decorates their house with large paper stars lit up with a bulb hanging outside homes. The basic motive of hanging stars outside home is to signify the Christmas star.
On christmas Eve people decorate their house with banana tree.
On this Occasion there are many sweet dish are prepared by the lady of house:
Sorpatel: This is one of the most traditional Goan curry and an integral part of Christmas cuisine in Goa. Made with pork meat and liver this dish perfectly reflects the spiciness of Christmas in Goa food. Pork Vindaloo: This is a part of the main course of Christmas cuisine in Goa. Tangy in tasty, this dish is best relished with plain boiled or jeera rice.
Bebinca: Reflecting the sweetness of Christmas in Goa food, Bebinca is a Goan desert. The preparation of this dish is very time consuming but the final product is awesomely tasty. Chocolate Walnut Fudge
In India, Father Christmas or Santa Claus delivers presents to children from a horse and cart. He's known as 'Christmas Baba' in Hindi, 'Baba Christmas' in Urdu (both of those mean Father Christmas); 'Christmas Thaathaa' in Tamil and 'Christmas Thatha' in Telugu (both of those mean Christmas old man); and 'Natal Bua' (Christmas Elder Man) in Marathi.
